Windows 10 release date

Microsoft latest OS version is due for launch on July 29th. However, this may not be for all devices. Microsoft are trying to repair any damage done from the first step of Windows 8 to provide customers with an operating system that suits all types of customers. Microsoft realised that Windows was more tailored towards number crunching workstations, and high-end gaming rigs. Whereas the touch-controlled systems from all in one PC’s for the family and the thin and light notebooks down to slender tablets were not catered for, meaning Microsoft were losing their grip on the market. The new offering from Windows tries to bridge these gaps by offering a more dynamic operating system as well as making key changes to the area’s most Windows 8 users were left frustrated with. Microsoft announced in January 2015 that Windows 10 will be free for existing Windows 7 and 8.1 users for its first year. For those not eligible to upgrade free of charge, Windows 10 Pro will cost around £130 per license. Microsoft have made obtaining Windows 10 very simple for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users by upgrading directly through Windows updates. If your machine is up to date, you will soon see a small icon of the Windows logo on your taskbar next to the internet status icon. Clicking this icon will open a new windows that details the upgrade process and will allow you to reserve your free Windows 10 download. Our overall verdict is, it's still too early to predict how much of a success Windows 10 will be. However, we applaud the user testing carried out by Microsoft, and the possibility of fixing some of the problems with Windows 8, especially those with the desktop. If what we have seen carries forward to the final version, then there should be a lot of happy Windows customers come July 29th.For those companies looking to migrate to Windows 10 or need assistance with their licencing, please feel free to get in touch and we will be happy to assist you.
